K2M Photography's video: Westbury FD Multi-Department Drill Roosevelt Field Mall 11-12-17

The Westbury Fire Department hosted a multi-department drill at the Roosevelt Field Mall on the morning of Sunday, November 12th, 2017. The drill, which was held in coordination with Simon Mall management and security, presented firefighters with the scenario of having a fire and smoke condition in various stores of the mall on more than one floor. In making the drill as realistic as possible dummies acting as victims were strategically placed throughout the wing of the mall that firefighters were operating in. The drill helped firefighters work on a variety of techniques including hose line stretching, victim removal, locating fire, radio communication, and FAST team deployment. Among the mutual aid departments operating at the Sunday morning drill were Garden City, Carle Place, Mineola, Roslyn, Williston Park, and Hicksville. Nassau County Fire Communications had their field communications unit on scene to assist.
