Mr.Pear & The Deer....finally is here. This story is based on a farmer at Bottomside who used to live there in the 1960's when I was a kid growing up. The best life of kids growing up in a farming environment. It was a simple, tough life but happy. There was plenty of nature to explore and discover the world of plants, insects, birds, reptiles and animals. My neighbors especially Devanand, Hansraj, Indal with my brother Saleh used to do many things boys do like climbing trees, swimming, playing cricket, Bush cooking, playing cards, marbles,tag a washer, chuoor, button hand game, war break, throw stick, etc. The cards got so old and swollen but can still be shuffled after sprinkling powder on it. Going into houses, yards and Backdams of people in the neighborhood was common. People lived like a family. Everyone knew one another and all their household stories. That was true life. Thieves were nonexistent. Most folks did not lock their doors. People were free and apart from a few drunken fights it was very safe and peaceful. Respect for elders was common and you never spoke back roughly to them. The good old golden days was a great gift for all of us growing up. We took it for granted but looking back at it now I wish I am a kid growing up there in the same setting. It was Disney like every day
