The only reason I wasn't sure about posting it was that my theory about Billy being not so much of a total irredeemable asshole hadn't been confirmed yet, and I wanted to see what he'd do first. Didn't want to support a character I didn't really believe in. I feel like he gets so much hate though considering Jonathan also got into fights and never faced abuse / abandonment from both parents, and also Steve was actively homophobic to start with but no one even mentions it?? I'm so glad Billy worked it out with Max in the end too, that scene with his mum had me in tears lmaooo So yeah anyway, after S3 I just felt like these two would have had the power to battle the absolute homophobic cesspit that was the 1980s. (As much as I love the music and aesthetic! Blue Monday is my favourite song). In my last year at uni before I graduated and started feeling fully depressed, I used to spend a lot of time at Scottish record stores that literally hadn't changed since the 70s, and going to 80s themed queer clubs, it was so damn fun aaa ANYWAY I'm babbling. Basic premise is that Steve and Nancy mutually broke up to be with other people, but Nancy found out that Steve had fallen for a guy. They decided she would be his beard until Hawkins homophobia calmed down, but obviously that becomes more difficult as things get crazier I might do something with season 3 too?
