Introduction As stated in the Sports Authority of Gujarat's mission statement, this authority will promote and develop sports activities in line with the sports policy of the state and the Government of India. The following two objectives are ascertained from the ongoing activities of this authority. Promoting sports among citizens Students, youth, men and women and senior citizens etc. are encouraged to participate in various sports by promoting sports in rural, taluka, district, municipal and metropolitan areas. Fostering excellence Excellence is encouraged in the field of sports with the aim of developing exceptional skills. Further its quality is enhanced by providing special training, sports equipment, and infrastructural facilities. Athletes who have the potential to win medals are scouted for various formal as well as informal competitions and given various types of training. Both these objectives are complementary to each other. The first objective is to create a favorable environment for sports while the second objective is to concentrate efforts on medal winners in the state. Strategy formulation Strategy formulation includes various activities to achieve these objectives. Sports Authority of Gujarat implements government schemes related to sports. These schemes are included in the budget of the government. which was earlier run by the office of the Youth Service Commissioner in consultation with the State Sports Council. Several new sports have been added to the SAG since its inception. The registration process of 36th National Games 2022 આ સત્તાતંત્રની ચાલુ પ્રવૃતિઓમાંથી નીચે મુજબના બે ઉદ્દેશો નિશ્ચિત થાય છે.\ રમતગમતના વાતાવરણને વધુ લોકપ્રિય બનાવવું. ગ્રામ્ય, તાલુકા, જીલ્લા, નગરપાલિકા અને મહાનગરપાલિકા વિસ્તારોમાં રમતગમતના વાતાવરણનું નિર્માણ કરી વિધ્યાર્થીઓ, યુવક-યુવતીઓ, પુરુષો અને મહિલાઓ તેમજ સિનિયર સિટીજન વગેરેને વિવિધ રમતગમતોમાં ભાગ લેવા માટે પ્રોત્સાહિત કરવામા આવે છે. ઉત્કૃષ્ટતાને ઉત્તેજન આપવું. રમત-ગમત ક્ષેત્રે વિશિસ્ટ કૌશલ્ય ખિલવવાના હેતુ સાથે ઉત્કૃષ્ટતાને ઉત્તેજન આપવામાં આવે છે. વધુમાં ખાસ પ્રશિક્ષણ, રમતગમતના સાધનો અને માળખાગત સવલતો પુરી પાડીને તેની ગુણવત્તામાં વધારો કરવામાં આવે છે. ચંદ્રકો જીતી શકે તેવી ક્ષમતા ધરાવતા રમતવીરોને જુદી જુદી ઔપચારિક તેમજ અનૌપચારિક સ્પર્ધાઓ શોધી કાઢવામાં આવે છે અને તેમને વિવિધ પ્રકારનું સધન પ્રશિક્ષણ આપવામાં આવે છે. આ બંને ઉદ્દેશો એકબીજાને પૂરક છે. પ્રથમ ઉદ્દેશ રમતગમત માટે માહોલ ઉભો કરવાનો છે જયારે બીજો ઉદ્દેશ સધન પ્રયત્નો રાજયમાં ચંદ્રક વિજેતાઓ પર ધ્યાન કેન્દ્રીત કરવાનો છે.
