KarenParkerYoga's video: Gentle Hatha Yoga before Meditation Sunday Morning Yoga full class

@Gentle Hatha Yoga before Meditation ~ Sunday Morning Yoga (full class)
Enjoy an accessible hatha yoga practice in preparation for meditation, or just to free up the body and mind. It is taken at a relatively slow pace with no strain. There are no vinyasas (no plank or downward-facing dog). Specific yoga poses are taken to prepare the body to sit in stillness. As you progress, you will feel a growing feeling of pleasant steadiness in your body and mind. Included poses are: Bhujangasana (cobra), Janu Sirsasana (one-legged seated forward bend), Shalambhasana (locust) variation, Matsyendrasana (seated twist), Balasana (child pose), Sarvangasana (shoulderstand), Setu Bandhasana (bridge) and Uttanasana (standing forward bend). The practice also includes a calming breathing exercise, Nadi Shodhan (alternate nostril breathing), then you are invited to transition into your own meditation. For a morning routine, do this practice before breakfast or consuming any caffeine, to maximise comfort and a relaxed mind. This practice is suitable for beginner and experienced yogis, but some poses are not suitable for pregnant women. Props needed: blanket or cushion to sit on. Enjoy!
