Kashmir Uncut's video: Traditional Tales Making Winter Interesting

Two short courses, self defense for girls and paper mache basics were launched today by Kashmir Women's Collective, a women's group based in Kashmir. Mantasha Binti Rashid, the founder of the group, said that the idea is to make the most of our time, especially in winters, when everything is considered dull and useless. We have 9 short courses, all of them are free of cost and they are being taught in Lal chowk in Kashmir Motors institute. Anyone can go and register. Learning helps us to grow. After successfully teaching calligraphy and Painting in the first week, on Feb 14, two courses were launched, one paper mache and two self defense. Paper mache is being taught by a start award winner. Maqbool Jan, who has done the famous Chai Jai wall and the self defense is taught by international Thang ta champion, Fiza Nazir. From 19th February onwards courses like scooty repairs, computers, photography and Crochet will be available for everyone to learn, informed Mahroosh Banday and Suhail, who are managing the project Wand'e voluntarily for Kashmir Women's Collective. It is an opportunity to learn which no one should miss.
