Katee Sackhoff's video: WE RE GONNA TALK ABOUT SUICIDE World Suicide Prevention Day

@WE'RE GONNA TALK ABOUT SUICIDE | World Suicide Prevention Day
We need to talk about suicide. And today being World Suicide Prevention Day, seems like a good time to do it. My life, like so many people’s lives, has been affected by suicide. It’s one of the top 20 leading causes of death around the globe. And despite how uncomfortable it made me feel, I had to learn that the path to a future with lower suicide rates starts with open and honest communication. I’ve learned that we need to share these stories and say their names, without shame, and without judgement for ourselves or the loved ones who either died by, or attempted suicide. Everyone out there who is suffering, please know that you don’t need to do it in silence. National Suicide Prevention Lifeline - 1-800-273-8255 So this episode has a bit of a different vibe to it than the last one guys. It’s heavy, but also very necessary. I want to thank the Didi Hirsch Suicide Prevention Center here in Los Angeles for giving me a tour of their amazing new facility and also Kim Kowsky for her time and for sharing both some incredible information, and her own personal experience with me. The center has so many resources for anyone who has ever thought about, attempted, or lost someone to suicide. But I especially want the comment section on this episode to feel like a safe place for people to engage with each other. So please practice kindness and compassion - anything less will be deleted. Thank you!
