Now I know in the grand scheme of things for me to be scared of, bees shouldn't rank very high, but I have my reasons: 1. When I was 8 years old, I went out to play behind our house. I was tromping through the field when I felt a sharp pain in my ankle from what I thought was a stinging nettle...but then the stinging spread. I had stepped into a bees nest and they stung me ALL OVER my little 8 year-old body. Traumatizing. 2. Because of that experience, I became very allergic to even a single bee sting. So I'm not so much afraid of the bees themselves anymore as I am of...like...anaphylactic shock. Shooting this episode was a highly stressful experience for me, and it may not seem like I handled it very well at times....BUT since doing this, I no longer freak out and run when I see a bee. I do walk calmly and swiftly away though because of my allergy. I know there is a lot of fear and panic in the world right now, and the situation we're in as a civilization might make this episode seem trivial. But whether it's a virus, bees, spiders, or confined spaces, I think our fear and our panic are generally larger than the actual threat itself (as you'll see from me in this episode). At the very least, panic doesn't serve us very well in confronting the problem at hand effectively. So please make decisions for your safety when it comes to this virus from an informed, rational place, and follow the advice of experts.
