@LDMA Burnt River Camp Dig Keith and Wynn AU Prospecting the Northwest 2017 Gold Adventures Episode 2
Keith & Wynn AU Prospecting the Northwest 2017 Adventures Episode 2 For the second stop in our 2017 gold adventures we headed south to Eastern Oregon and the LDMA Burnt River Camp; about half an hour or so off the Durkee,Or exit. It can be a dusty drive so take it slow and enjoy the scenery. If you're lucky you'll see the herd of long horn sheep that roam the hillsides. Burnt River Camp was having a camp dig. We each paid $50 to participate. For that $100 we had a bottomless pile of paydirt right next to our Gold Hog Raptor Flare 2.0 all weekend!! Yes, you read that right... bottomless pile of paydirt!!! It seems every time I thought, "Oh yeah, in about an hour we'll be out of dirt and can take a break!" Jim would show up with another bucket load for us. We worked our butts off and it was hot...it seems like it's always warm when we're at Burnt River... well, maybe with the exception of a day here and there. DISCLAIMER... we love this camp!! This is the first place we went out and said, "hey let's dig right.....there!" and found gold!!! Yes, we were LDMA members before we put pick and shovel to dirt. The caretakers Jim and Pam are awesome!! Jim is so knowledgeable about the area and how gold deposited itself... and he's not afraid to share his knowledge!! There is a herd of deer that frequents camp. Several times a day they wonder through. We've had them come through when there aren't many people in camp and we've had them come through during the LDMA national outtings. There was a yearling that was separate from the herd who hung around a lot. She spent a lot of time watching us feed our Gold Hog from the bushes about 15 feet from us. A few times she tried to approach Jazzie, but Jazzie wasn't too keen on the idea. Even her barking didn't chase the yearling away. Two or three times when Keith was taking Jazzie for a walk the yearling came out of the bushes and followed them. LDMA Burnt River Camp has rose gold, lots of rose gold and rosier rose gold than Blue Bucket. Come along and enjoy our adventure mining at the LDMA Burnt River Camp, and stay tuned... our next adventure took us to the LDMA Scott River Camp... As a side note, we didn't see any rattlesnakes, but I heard at least one was seen.
