Drums by Keith B. 's video: Sunday Bloody Sunday - U2 - Drum Cover by Keith B

@Sunday Bloody Sunday - U2 - Drum Cover by Keith B.
I’m not a particularly big U2 fan, but I really like their 3rd album “War”. It’s one where I think every song is good, and when it came out in 1983, it sounded like a new direction in rock music that was fresh and raw. The opening song “Sunday Bloody Sunday” contains an iconic drum part from Larry Mullens, with elements of a disco beat including a steady kick and two-handed 16th notes on the hi-hat. But the unique snare work takes away any disco feel, and creates a drum part that was, and is, totally unique. This was much harder to play than I expected, and despite numerous takes I couldn’t get one where I neither clicked my sticks nor got mixed up on the snare part. The version I posted has the snare as I wanted it, but includes a nasty stick click. The song didn’t chart on Billboard’s Hot 100, but it got pretty heavy play on album rock stations (it wasn’t until two albums later with “The Joshua Tree” that U2 hit ). It was named the 272nd-greatest song by Rolling Stone on their list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time."
