The pilot’s new body is stiffer than the previous one. It’s also grown, with a 2.7” longer wheelbase plus a wider front and rear track. For power, the Pilot carries on with a 3.5L V6 engine (285hp, 262 lb-ft) paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission featuring standard paddle shifters. The interior has grown in both passenger and cargo space. As for infotainment, it’s handled in most trims by a 9-inch screen, though a 7-in unit comes in the base Sport trim. With either screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, though both are wireless with the 9-inch screen. The Honda Pilot’s trim lineup has been overhauled for 2023. The Sport trim is now the base version with the EX-L, TrailSport, Touring, and Elite trims above it, in that order. The TrailSport is the most off-road-oriented version, and it features Continental TerrainContact all-terrain tires whose movement is managed by an off-road-tuned suspension with a 1” lift. It also has steel skid plates, a full-size spare, plus recovery points integrated into the front skid plate and tow hitch.
