Kelly Ralston's video: Paradiddle-diddle Fill for Congas

@Paradiddle-diddle Fill for Congas
Taking the snare drum rudiment The Paradiddle-diddle and applying it to the congas. The basic strokes are two open slaps followed by four open tones. Open slaps are slaps made without the other hand on the drum using the tips of the fingers. There should be a noticeable difference in the sounds of the two different strokes. The pattern is this: SSOOOO SSOOOO OOOO O Sticking is this: RLRRLL RLRRLL RLRR L As always, practice slowly at first concentrating on differentiating the sounds and getting the correct sticking. Then try to add it to the 2nd half of a normal 2/3 clave tumbao pattern, the 3 side of the clave. This is a one bar fill. It's easier if you stop on 4 with a bass/heel note with the right hand before exercising the fill.
