Back in the '40s, Lt. Col. Charles Skinner contributed to Salvation Army hymnody one of the loveliest of devotional songs. The tune is "St.Teresa," and it was written as a setting of a well-known St. Teresa of Avila text. It has often been used as a benediction to Salvation Army services. My version is an attempt to treat the tune with the classical touch that apparently inspired Col. Skinner.
