We share our long journey home from Penang, Malaysia to California, USA. We decided to repatriate to our home country due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. Our government advised us to return home or plan to stay abroad for an indefinite period of time without embassy assistance. We used the political evacuation benefit of our travel health insurance to fly to the USA. But that was only the first half of our journey. The next day we drove over 400 miles ( 630 kilometers ) to an isolated cabin in the woods where our family will self quarantine and shelter in place.
