Kenton Park's video: Lamont Hiebert - Sing for Joy Bass Cover

@Lamont Hiebert - Sing for Joy (Bass Cover)
Sing for Joy is a song that I was first introduced to in my teen years with a choir. When I first heard it I always enjoyed listening to the bass line, and revered it as a great line. It is one of those songs that has always stayed with me, and now days as I venture into more Gospel genres, it has been a gateway, using some Gospel grooves, some Gospel themes, and some denser chords than traditional pop/contemporary. While doing all of this, it also retains elements of contemporary music, in that the chord pattern is simple, staying only on the G, C, and D (although adding auxiliary notes like 7ths). Ultimately, this is a great song for any musician at any stage. It is simple enough for people who just play the root chords (G, C, D), but with enough room open for advanced musicians to let loose and groove with elaborate augmentations both harmonically and with runs.
