Kenya has moved a step closer to implementing the High Grand Falls Dam. This follows the signing of a project development agreement between the State Department for Irrigation and a British construction firm, GBM Consortium. The agreement now gives the contractor permission to set up a base at the project area in Kitui and Tharaka counties and begin preparations including feasibility studies. Once complete, the dam will provide water volume exceeding 5600 million cubic meters to irrigate about 400,000 acres of land.
