You worrying about getting that degree and getting that job is totally wrong. Especially for the competitive world we are living in. For a world where change is happening at unprecedented level of pace and scale. Your focus if that’s the case is wrong. And if you keep the focus of wanting to study because it will yield you a job in the end, then you are probably going to be one of those who won’t have a job. Here’s my tip for you today. Don’t be short sighted with your focus. Think far. Think wide. Focus on developing your skills. At least two skills to a pro level. Focus on doing what you like. Because when you like something, you will put in everything you’ve got. Focus on learning languages. Again pick a language you like. But one extra language on top English, makes you that much more valuable. Focus on expanding your horizon. Yes, by that I mean, try new things. Learn new things. Even if you suck at what ever you do. Which you will at the start. Focus on becoming better. Because ten years from now, that job you think you want. That job that you are so focussed on getting after finishing your degree. That job will probably not be there. Not just because it’s a competitive world. And it could very well be, there will be no jobs, because they no longer exist. But there will be many more opportunities available that no one knows about yet today. Which is, Focus on building yourself for the future. Focus on preparing yourself for the future. Focus, on Creating yourself for the future. Your job, role, opportunity or business is most likely yet to be invented. Stop worrying. Stop being short sighted. Think wide. Think long. Get better.
