Hot on the heels of the demonetisation announcement in 2016 and the introduction of the bright pink Rs 2000 banknote came news reports that the RBI officials were planning to redesign all existing currency notes gradually. The Reserve Bank of India is reportedly all set to issue new Rs 10 denomination banknotes under the Mahatma Gandhi series with chocolate brown colour as the base. The reverse side is expected to feature Odisha's Konark Sun Temple instead of the merged image of a tiger, elephant and rhino printed on the Rs 10 note currently in circulation. It may also include two number panels with numerals in ascending size on the front side, as can be seen in the recently-introduced Rs 50 and Rs 200 banknotes. The new design was approved by the government just last week but around one billion pieces of the banknote has already been printed by the apex bank according to news reports. नोट बंदी हुए एक साल से ज्यादा का समय बीत चूका है लेकिन नोट में बदलाव का सिलसिला लगातार जारी है अब बारी है 10 रुपए के नोट की. 2016 में जब से नोटबंदी हुई है तब से ही बाजार में नए नोटों की बहार आ गई है. सबसे पहले 2000 रुपए का गुलाबी नोट, फिर 500 रुपए का हरा नोट, फिर 200 रुपए का नारंगी नोट और फिर 50 रुपए का चटक रंग का नोट. अब बारी 10 रुपए के नोट की है. इसके बाद सिर्फ 20 रुपए, 100 रुपए और 5 रुपए का नोट ही बचेगा बदलने के लिए. अब 10 रुपए का नोट चॉक्लेट ब्राउन रंग का बनाया गया है.सूत्रों के मुताबिक आरबीआई जल्द ही 10 रुपए का नया नोट लॉन्च करने वाली है. महात्मा गांधी इस बार चॉक्लेटी दिखेंगे...दूसरी तरफ उड़ीसा का कोनार्क सूर्य मंदिर दिखेगा. फिलहाल, 10 रुपए के नोट में एक चीता, हाथी और गेंडा दिखता है. एपेक्ट बैंक की रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक ये डिजाइन कुछ समय पहले ही सरकार द्वारा पारित किया गया है और अभी तक 10 लाख नोट छप भी चुके हैं.
