The flood situation in Sukhothai Province has reached critical scales after a large mass of water from Phrae Province flowed down to join the Yom River and continued to rise until it overflowed and flooded many areas of people's homes, particularly in Village No. 1, Pak Kwae Subdistrict, Mueang Sukhothai District. The torrent damaged the embankment, breaking a more than 100-metre-long line, causing water to overflow and flood houses. Over 300 households are in difficulties. Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has previously expressed concern about the situation in Sukhothai Province, most likely because it has to carry an enormous amount of water from Phrae Province to agricultural areas and parts of the city.
