She secured a gold medal in the women's 49kg weightlifting final, which was also India's first yellow metal in the ongoing edition. Her best lifts were 88kg (snatch) and 113kg (clean and jerk). Sanket Sargar and Bindyarani Devi won silver medals in the men's and women's 55kg weightlifting event. Gururaja Poojary also a weightlifter bagged bronze in the men's 61 kg finals.
