Imagine how different life would be if you had gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or Eosiniphilic esophagitis (EOE) or even laryngomalacia (LM) - this means floppy larynx or stridor which means trouble breathing. Over 25% of kids suffer from some level of GERD and of those 45% MORE are hospitalized. Because of the severity of GERD, LM, EOE and other gastronomy issues, Drs are prescribing G-tubes to help the child (or adult) manage this disease. That is where this story came about. Nico is a 3-year-old boy who has been living with a feeding tube. His family calls it his "button" (I think that's pretty adorable).
