Top surfing mistakes I made: 1. I tried to hold on to the side of the board to get more grip when doing the pop-up. The problem is it slows you down because you cut the wave. 2. I did not paddle enough and was lying so far back that my feet were in the water. 3. I kept on hitting people with my board.
