Kimi no Station: The Home of City Pop's video: A Compilation of Rare Underrated City Pop Songs A Tribute to Van Paugam

With the recent news of Van Paugam's original YT account being removed and the fact that attempts to bring it back have failed, it felt like we had lost a helping hand in the world of music on YouTube. Van was responsible for introducing many people around the world to the rock, pop, and funk/soul music of Japan during the 1970s-1980s, all of which have been collectively known as "City Pop." Now sure, the term may seem a bit broad and inaccurate, but the music was damn good. With hits such as "Plastic Love," "Stay With Me," and "Tasogare no Bay City" among others, music from the land of the rising sun has been brought back into a new light. But what about the other gems that are more obscure? Well, for today, I decided to attempt what Van did best and bring to you some of the City Pop music that isn't too easy to come by, including songs by famous artists that deserve more attention.
