The Story Of Minato Namikaze (Naruto) The story of the great Minato Namikaze. Minato enrolled in Konoha's Academy with the goal of gaining the respect and recognition of the people by becoming Hokage. Kushina Uzumaki was assigned in the same class as Minato when she moved to Konoha. Minato was immediately taken to her vivid red hair, which he thought was stunning. Kushina was taken by Kumogakure forces years later, when they graduated and became ninja. Konoha dispatched ninja to find her, but only Minato recognized the strands of red hair Kushina had left behind to indicate their trail. Minato liberated her from her kidnappers on her own. Minato professed his adoration for her hair and strength on their trip back to Konoha, forcing Kushina, who had previously thought Minato "unreliable" and even "girly," to fall in love with him. Minato and Kushina had been together since he rescued her, and with his love, Kushina was able to keep the Nine-Tails imprisoned inside her at bay. They married ultimately. Minato began a three-year process of building the Rasengan, the pinnacle of shape shifting, after viewing a Tailed Beast Ball. He'd spend the rest of his life attempting to reconcile it with his own nature.
