Dutch Sheets: Your Testimony Moves God to Do it Again (Isaiah 43:26) Dutch speaks at the Glory of Zion Pentecost celebration on 6/15/14. Dutch encourages us to release our testimonies because they put God “in remembrance,” of past miracles. God did not forget them – He just works in tandem with our words, the way oxygen gives energy to a fire. When Paul instructed Timothy to “war over his prophetic words” (1 Timothy 1:18), he was doing more than just encouraging himself with those prophecies. When he put God’s Word in his mouth it released the same power that launched those prophetic words. Be blessed. Remember: you have been “blessed to be a blessing.” (Genesis 12:2) Pay it forward! I said, “No, not really.” He said, “In Hebrew, the word “testimony” means, “do again,” or “do time again.” We believe that when we decree what God did yesterday that the same power is released today.” Why do we celebrate Passover every year? Why do we connect with what happened yesterday and bring it back into today? Remembering is not merely a recalling of the past but also a call to action NOW. When God remembered Samson, his strength returned. (Judges 16:28) He remembered Hannah when she prayed. She said, “God remember me and when the Bible says he remembered her and she conceived. (1 Samuel 1:19) Jesus said about the communion, Luke 22:19 “He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” Paul picked up on that 1 Corinthians 11:24-26 “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me. For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.” We are doing more than just remembering in our mind or recalling the fact that He died. We are breathing back into the present. Every time we partake of that, we partake of the same power that happened at the cross. The word “testimony” is very similar to “remember.” This is why God said, Isaiah 43:26 Put Me in remembrance; Let us contend together; State your case, that you may be acquitted.” It is not because God forgets. When we step into this principle of putting Him in remembrance and calling forth out of yesterday what he did today, we tap into the same power. When you begin to testify of what He did yesterday, He brings you full circle. You step into the same power and it happens again. Romans 1:16 “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.” It's more than a message. It's more than remembering what He did. When you proclaim it, the power of the Cross is released again. In the Hebrew way of thinking, time is alive, time is pregnant. Time is not linear, time is circular. Isaiah 55:11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. John 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” It's challenging to me to break into this new way of thinking. Some of the rabbi's and Hebrew theologians call it a Time Spiral. They don't measure things in a linear way. In going from Passover to Pentecost they don't measure it as 50 days, they measure it in circles of seven weeks. They see it as going to glory to glory. We get to 7, which is covenant, which brings us to 8, new beginnings, and we start another cycle of seven, then another cycle of seven, and then we get to seven cycles of sevens which is a fullness and completion of covenant. Then we come into the full release. We get to new beginning and outpouring of Pentecost. Every time you partake of the Lord's table you should be experiencing the power of the cross again. Every time you celebrate Pentecost seven times seven weeks after Passover you should be experiencing everything they experienced in the upper room again.
