This is Part Two in our journey to explore The Catlins.  We want to do justice to this amazing area of New Zealand.  The trick is to 'rush it slowly' and peel back the layers. Check out our Part One video. We departed Niagara after a two-night stay and headed towards our next destination - Papatowai. The tiny settlement (only about 30 permanent residents) is only around a 35km drive from Niagara. Papatowai, meaning 'where the forest meets the sea', is located close to the mouth of the Tahakopa River.
