Kiwis Fly The Coop's video: Twizel - the Deep Freeze

@Twizel - the Deep Freeze
Twizel isn't what you would call a historical town.  It is relatively young as it was established as a construction town in 1968.  It was to act as a service and residential base for the Waitaki hydroelectric power scheme.  The weather warnings were coming in with temperatures expected to dip to-15 degrees. We thought it a good time to stay at the Twizel Holiday Park for 3 nights, to make use of being plugged into power, use the laundry and enjoy a long hot shower. We also took advantage of the clear crisp days and went on a roadie to the base of Aoraki (Mt Cook). A quick detour to walk to Tasman Glacier was a bonus too.
