Sanders Cafe was a restaurant and cafe that Colonel Sanders, the founder of KFC opened in 1940. It was the very first Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant & it still serves food & is also a museum & historic site. It still has the original kitchen where Colonel Sanders developed his secret KFC recipe & the original restaurant office. Sanders Court was also opened by the Colonel. It was a motel next door and the museum has one of the original rooms.
