Price is reasonable with the amount of food you get. We always have leftovers to take home! Recently visited during the Alexandria Summer Restaurant Week (8/18-8/27/17) - $35 three-course dinner for two. We got the Super Combo: Doro wot (chicken stew with drumstick), chicken infillay, key wot (red beef stew), and beef alicha (turmeric spiced stew) served with our choice of four dishes from the Vegan Sampler & house salad and injera. As part of the Alexandria Restaurant week promotion, our meal included an appetizer - spinach sambusa, and 2 desserts - baklava and rice pudding. Loved every bite from the appetizer to the dessert. Loved the colors and the aroma of the meat and veggies. If you've never had Ethiopian food, we suggest you start with their veggie sampler/platter because they are not spicy. If you're a meat eater, you might like their key wot (beef stew) and doro wot (chicken stew with drumstick). We loved their veggie sampler and the doro wot the most. The chicken and drumstick were very tender and it came with a hard-boiled egg, which helped to neutralize the spiciness in their injera dipping sauces. :) Big shout-out to our server, Salam (so sorry if we spelled your name wrong) - We loved your smile and your excellent service. Thanks so much for suggesting us the Super Combo, we enjoyed it a lot! Will definitely be back! P.S. Customers are served with bottled Deer Park water, not tap water. We loved it. We went there at like 3:50 pm so it was very quiet, but many tables were reserved, so it's definitely a popular place! Parking: Street parking with 1-2 hour limit except for weekends. Since Hawwi is close to Old Town, we highly recommend arriving earlier if you have an appointment/reservation!
