Vande Bharat Express, also known as Train 18, is an Indian high-speed rail intercity network for electric multiple unit. It was designed and built by Integral Coach Factory (ICF) at Perambur, Chennai under the Indian government's Make in India initiative over a span of 18 months. The train was launched on 15 February 2019, by which date a second unit will have been produced and readied for service. The service was named 'Vande Bharat Express' on 27 January 2019. As of July 2020, the Indian Railways operates two Vande Bharat trains. In January 2021, Indian Railways finally awarded the contract for supply of propulsion and control equipment of 44 rakes to Medha Servo Drives, based at Hyderabad. The Tejas Express features modern onboard facilities with doors which are operated automatically. Tejas means "sharp", "lustre" and "brilliance" in many Indian languages. Recently Agartala - Anand Vihar Rajdhani Express was upgraded to Tejas style sleeper rake and was named as Tejas Rajdhani special. This train leaves Agartala on monday and arrives Anand Vihar on Wednesday morning and leaves Anand Vihar on Wednesday evening and arrives Agartala on Friday. Earliar Rajdhani used to run on this slot between Agartala and Anand Vihar Terminus (Delhi). This train became country's first sleeper Tejas express. -7
