Kushan Mitra's video: Does buying a diesel car make sense in India anymore

@Does buying a diesel car make sense in India anymore?
In my auto column today I explored whether buying a diesel car makes sense in India any longer as the price gap between diesel and petrol gradually disappears across India and vanishes in Delhi. Diesel cars are far more economical, but with their higher purchase costs and the marginal benefits of the fuel are making less and less sense. In the NCR, where residual values of diesel engined vehicles have been devastated by the SC mandated 10-year rule, it makes even less sense to buy diesel engine variants of most cars (the Innova and Fortuner would be exceptions in my opinion). However, with little or no clarity on diesel policy - would other states follow Delhi's example of a special cess on diesel, or could the SC mandate a 10-year ownership rule for diesels outside the NCR - despite BS6 diesels being incredibly clean? Would you buy a diesel? Leave your comments below and subscribe to my channel as well for more honest car talk.
