Kyle Ordway's video: Gwanghwamun Candlelight Tsunami Seoul Korea

@Gwanghwamun Candlelight Tsunami • 외신이 감탄한 광화문 촛불 쓰나미 • Seoul, Korea
Over seven-hundred thousand [700,000] protesters gathered together in Gwanghwamun Square on Saturday for the fourth week in a row, demanding President Park Geun-hye resign over a corruption scandal. The weekly mass demonstrations -- among the largest seen in South Korea since the pro-democracy protests of the 1980s -- have provided a stark challenge to Park's authority, but the president has defied calls to step down. After claiming a turnout of around one million for last Saturday's protest, organisers said they expected around 500,000 people to march in Seoul, with a similar number demonstrating in other cities across the country. So far the candlelight protests have been largely peaceful, with many families participating, but there was still a heavy police presence on Saturday, with buses and trucks blocking access roads to the presidential Blue House. "We want to have a peaceful protest as in the three previous rallies", Nam Jeong-su, spokesman for the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, told AFP. Nam said he expected the ranks of protesters to be swelled by thousands of students who sat the national college entrance exam earlier in the week. And this being South Korea -- with the world's highest smartphone penetration rate -- many had downloaded a special app showing a burning candle to hold aloft during the rally. Protesters were expected to converge on Seoul's ceremonial Gwanghwamun boulevard at around 5pm local time to hear speeches before heading towards the Blue House and the police barricades. The anti-Park rallies have continued despite two televised apologies from the president over a scandal linked to her friendship with long-time confidante Choi Soon-sil, who has been arrested for fraud and abuse of power. Prosecutors are investigating allegations that Choi, 60, exploited their friendship to coerce donations from large companies including Samsung to non-profit foundations which she set up and used for personal gain. She is also accused of interfering in government affairs, despite holding no official position. Lurid reports of the unhealthy influence Choi wielded over Park have seen the president's approval ratings plunge to five percent -- a record low for a sitting president. In an effort to soothe public anger, Park has agreed to relinquish some of her extensive presidential powers and submit to a probe by an independent special prosecutor to be appointed by parliament. /////////////////////// There is a deeper thread that runs through this story into China and the atheist indoctrination of the entire country over the past 15 years. A consorted effort via the Chinese government and numerous private-sector "entities" has propagated the Communism in China to levels of disparity that are difficult to fathom given the size and scale; Population: 1.320,000,000+ [1.3-Billion] GDP: $11,380,000,000 [$11-Trillion-380-Billion]. As China saw a fourfold increase in GDP, the value of life for Chinese citizens nearly mirrored the trend but inversed. An increasing majority of Chinese citizens "have no direction in life," "nothing to be happy for," and "no spiritual center" since the Chinese government actively partakes in stifling religions such as Christianity by running over protesters with bulldozers. There is something much, much more sinister going on when you literally have one country being run by a president who is verifiably under marionette-levels of absolute control by the most gifted psychic known in South Korea [of course, she's a little more than a psychic now and has since binded herself to a coregency in which she sits atop the echelon of consortium witches] and yet in another country the entirety of its citizens are being suppressed into an indoctrination of atheistic communism, believing there is no point to living from their "confirmed" atheism, void of happiness and replete of even the notion or concept of spirituality. "Seeking isn't just about finding; for through the very process of genuine searching, we often attain that which we never partook to find at the onset." Or, in a more succinct approach: "Of course life is a bitch; if it was a slut, it would be easy." /// Links /// https://archive.is/uB0bN https://archive.is/P9Vt1 https://archive.is/0TgFj https://i.sli.mg/reEzki.jpg https://i.sli.mg/kabkl9.jpg https://i.sli.mg/xmEnkG.png https://i.sli.mg/uLCdkg.jpg https://i.yuki.la/pol/1477632623556.png http://archive.is/EgbW5 http://archive.is/v3nFa http://archive.is/eLllm http://archive.is/SfZX5 http://archive.is/l3Yqd
