Guess what guys! I'm fat! And I'm going to start doing something about it! Dear Body, For the past 28 years, you have supported me and kept me alive. You've been strong and dependable through hard times. We have been through 13 years of ballet, on and off belly dance, and a few futile attempts at roller derby. You have struggled, and persevered. You have been through almost a decade of bad psychiatric medication prescriptions that didn't help me, and hurt you. We have had surgery to remove a faulty organ, and come out fine on the other side. And you created a whole new life, body. A little person who you cradled and nurtured for 9 months, and then gifted to me to love and cradle and nurture. I need to be honest. I've been a shitty friend to you, body. I have put crappy fuel in you, I have been lazy. I have had bad hygiene habits and worse eating habits. And you deserve better. This is a promise to you, to do better. To treat you better, to support you the way you've supported me. I love you body. Let's get better, together. Love, Faye
