LHphotographer's video: Soaring Frenzy 500km across the Alps

This year's gliding season has been great so far, especially considering its unpromising start (no flying March-April) due to COVID19 restrictions. But there is no doubt that I will remember this flight the most! I flew 514km in distance/ 390km in triangle (FAI) from Lesce, Bled airfield in Slovenia to Cortina d'Ampezzo (first turnpoint) in the heart of the southern (Dolomitic) Alps. I continued further North, to Obertauern, a famous ski-resort, located in the Radstädter Tauern in Salzburger Land, Austria and back home from there. Developing thunderstorm around Villach almost thwarted my plans on flying back home, but a strong thermal to 2400m QNH at Dobratsch made it possible at last. August is not known for the weather that would accommodate long cross-country flights, but it happens sometimes. Hoping for pleasant conditions and for some more nice flights till the end of the season.
