The lotus-shaped tower will be used for communication, observation and other leisure facilities, with construction costing $104.3 million, funded by EXIM Bank of People's Republic of China. The tower consists of 17 storeys and is 350 meters in high and was built at a cost of US$ 104 million. The tower has been constructed with 80% of the funds being provided by the Republic of China. Lotus Tower Colombo, the tallest tower in the South Asian region will be declared open by President Maithripala Sirisena on September 16 at 5pm.
