He said the NPP will not participate in it as it is not intended to find solutions to the present economic crisis but to find solutions to the internal issues faced the government. He stated this while speaking to the media at the NPP Party headquarters in Battaramulla yesterday. Anura Kumara Dissanayake said however, the NPP will conduct an anti-government protest March and a rally on March 23 in Nugegoda.The protest march will begin from the Delkanda Junction and parade up to Nugegoda where the rally is held, he said. The purpose of this protest campaign is to create awareness on the insensitive government, save the country from the wrong economic policies being followed since the past and forming a people-friendly government in the country. He invited the people of this country to join this anti-government protest campaign which will be the beginning of the journey towards making decisive changes to the wrong economic policies being followed. Dissanayake said the President, through his recent address to the nation, showcased the level of his understanding about the present economic crisis in the country. Fraud and corruption, unsuitable tax policies and unconditional support given to the close business friends of the government to gain more profits are some of the direct causes resulting in this crisis, he pointed out. “Chasing this government away alone will not solve this economic crisis.We have to take the lead to rectify the wrong political and economic decisions taken for the past 74 years”, the NPP leader said. NPP MP Dr.Harini Amarasooriya said the present government cannot be accepted as a responsible government. People should organize themselves properly to chase away this government as soon as possible.
