You may be wondering how much pension from the government you’ll get. In 2016, the system changed and the State Pension is now known as ‘flat-rate’. You might think everyone is entitled to the same amount but the amount you receive may be lower or higher than the standard amount. So, we recommend that you get a State Pension Statement. This will tell you what you’ve earned and what you’re likely to get. It will also tell you when your state pension age is which is when you will receive the money. You may be close to receiving it already, but you will need to claim your State Pension as it’s not automatic.
