He was born in Recife 1978, and his family moved to Brasilia in 1982. Maverick was influenced by artists of the 80’s generation and all the urban hip-hop culture that began in that period. He began his musical journey in 1993 playing drums in local garage bands. In 2003 Leo formed a Rap band and released his first demo tape, and this tape opened the opportunity to play his band on some of the greatest festivals of music in Brazil. In 2007 Maverick recorded his first album, making several live presentations. During this period he won an award for best live performance at a local festival. In 2009 he founded his own record label, the Amazonia Beats and began producing Beats for hip-hop culture artists, and since then he has firmly established himself in the hip hop game as a music producer and rapper, made partnerships with national and international musicians, and also produced video clips and many songs.
