Homemade Chicken Jerky For Dogs | Super Easy DIY Dog Treats Recipe My dog Leo loves my homemade chicken jerky! These chicken jerky snacks are a healthy snack and do not contain any preservatives of additives like many other store-bought snacks. My homemade chicken jerky are also low in fat, making it a guilt free snack for your dog. Recipe: 1. Remove any fat attached to the chicken breast. 2. Cute chicken breast into thin slices, best if cut with the grain. 3. Dehydrate the chicken breast slices for 9-11 hours at 160 degrees Fahrenheit. The time it takes to dehydrate the chicken depends on how thick you cute your chicken slices. I am using the Nesco dehydrator with 4 layers and it needed around 9.5 hours. 3. Bake chicken jerky in 200 degree Fahrenheit oven for 5-7 minutes to kill off any bacteria, just to be safe. 4. Feed to your dog! :) 5. Store the rest of the dehydrated chicken jerky in a airtight container. I used a mason jar.
