To add to Alan's points, one might add that, even in private homes, TV became the center of family life, and TV chatter came to replace family conversations and communication in daily life. ------- Alan Watt is a long-term researcher into the causative forces behind major changes in historical development. His background is that of a Renaissance man, with a background in three professions, plus having various books published, mainly under pseudonyms: on religions, philosophy, poetry. For much of his life, he was heavily involved in the music industry as a singer, songwriter and performer, and he was involved in folk music, blues, pop, rock, and even classical. He has been warning the North American peoples for some years now that the same process of amalgamation is being carried out in this area of the world: to integrate Canada, the USA and Mexico into a single trading bloc, and then into a political union.
