Life Aj Kal's video: Surkanda Devi Temple I

Hi Guys, This blog is about my Fourth Day (2nd Oct 2018 ) of Solo Bike trip to Uttarakhand. This was the last day of my trip. My planned was to Darshan Surkanda Devi temple. Here I checkout from Hotel at 9 a.m. and went for Temple Darshan. I start trekking the stiff path and reached the temple around 10:20 a.m. it took 50 mins to reach the temple. Total route was approx. 3 km from the main road. True Story of Surkanda Devi Temple : This story is all about lord Shankar and Mata Sati. Mata Sati was daughter of Raja Daksha. Raja Daksh insulted Lord Shankar not to invite in his Yagya. Mata Sati cannot tolerate this insult and she jumped into the fire and failed the yagya. Lord Shankar got angry and took Mata sati burned body and started moving around the universe. He passes this particular place too, while he was moving around the universe and mata Sati head fall into this place. Due to this temple name is called Surkanda Devi Temple. This temple is located at Hight of 9995 foot from the sea level. Many religious people are coming during the Dussehra (Navratri) period. This place is also known as " Surkut"as Lord Indra did devotion at this place. You can get clear view of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Ymunotri, Nanda Devi, Gori Shankar peak, Chorkhambha and Gangadwar holy place from this temple. You can also get clear view of location like Roorkee, saharnpur, dehradun and Mussoorie from here. Temple Distance from Major location : Dhanolti to Surkanda Devi temple = 5 k.m. Mussoorie to Surkanda Devi Temple= 34 k.m. Rishikesh to Surkanda Devi Temple = 87 k.m. Delhi to Surkanda Devi Temple= 311 k.m.
