Life In Another Town's video: A689 The highest road in England Nenthead North Pennines Boxing Day 2017

@A689 The highest road in England. Nenthead North Pennines Boxing Day 2017
On Boxing Day 2017, my wife and I took her parents out for a daytrip drive to Hadrian's Wall. The video clip shows us on our way back down to Merseyside, crossing over the hills of the North Pennines. A couple of months ago I bought a 2010 Ford Mondeo 2.0 EcoBoost PowerShift Titanium X Sport Estate. Today was the first opportunity to test the new set of Continental Winter Contact TS850P winter tyres. The weather was relatively mild, a few centimetres of snow on the hills and a temperature of only -2 centigrade. This stretch of the A689 in the North Pennines is the highest classified road in England, reaching a height of 627m. The clip shows us having a pitstop at Nenthead, which is over the brow of the summit and has an elevation of only 450m. Incidentally, the pub/ Bed & Breakfast, we pulled up at, is called the Miners Arms, in Nenthead - https://www.nenthead.com/ If you like this video please visit our YouTube channel: Life In Another Town, where you will find many more original travel videos, and interviews.
