Life In Another Town's video: Adventure in Tunisia Travelling by Louage the most common form of public transport for Tunisians

@Adventure in Tunisia. Travelling by Louage, the most common form of public transport for Tunisians.
While on holiday in Tunisia in Jan 2013, Heather and I explored the country using public transport. Louages are a great value and handy way to travel between neighbouring towns. The louages operate from a hub in each town and travel in a network across the country. Minibuses or share taxis are common across Tunisia. There is no set timetable, the louages leave when there are eight passengers onboard. The louages are often Toyota or Mitsubishi type minivans. According to the website www.tunisia-live.net a louage is a nine person passenger van that is clearly delineated by its color. White vans with a red stripe indicate that it is a city-to-city louage. Most important Tunisian cities are served by the red striped louages. There are also white vans with yellow stripes that are for regional transport. These louages serve rural areas from major cities within the region. As an ex-pat, you most likely will be taking the red-striped louage.
