A gaggle of Greylag Geese and goslings at Southport Marine Lake. This video was filmed one evening in late May 2023. It's just before sunset and as I my wife Heather and I pull off the road into a carpark by Southport Marine lake, we see all the geese crossing. These species of geese are called Greylag Geese. This is a link to the RSPB website and their information on the Greylag goose. https://www.rspb.org.uk/birds-and-wildlife/wildlife-guides/bird-a-z/greylag-goose/ Southport Marine Lake is a man made lake just over one mile long and half a mile wide, it was created along with the beautiful Kings gardens in 1887. This part of the coast is popular for several varieties of Geese, seabirds, waders and water birds. If you are a birdwatcher then the RSPB Marshside Nature Reserve is a few hundred yards along the coast from this lake. Several miles inland you'll find the Wildlife and Wetlands Trust Martin Mere Wetland Centre. I filmed the video with a DJI Osmo Action 3. I didn't stop to attach the external microphone and wind muffler. The audio you hear is a cleaned up version from one of the unedited videos, and then overlaid onto this compilation of clips.
