India Bhutan Border at Rangamati in Central Dooars is the last point on Indian territory in the central Dooars region of North Bengal before entering Bhutan. After the events of the last episode where we traveled from Central Dooars Bridge to Rangamati, we went on to visit the Bhutan border at Rangamati in Central Dooars. The word "dooars" means 'doors' or gateways, There are 18 passages or gateways between the hills in Bhutan and the plains in India.This region is called the Dooars Region, and it spreads over an area of 880 km2 (340 sq mi) in North Bengal and Assam. This Bhutan border gate at Rangamati is one of the eight 'Bengal Dooars' (gateways to Bhutan in the Dooars region of Northern Bengal). There is an unique border here at Rangamati, where houses lie very close to the border line and are easily accessible to the people from the other side of the border. There are also factories and other buildings in the Bhutanese town pf Pasaka which are also easily accessible from India.
