A tourist's experience in Little Hill Homestay at 6th mile Sittong, Latpanchar near Ahaldara 360 degree view point. The place, Little hill homestay is situated in 6th mile area very near to the Latpanchar bird watching area in Sittong, an offbeat tourist spot. It is a nice place to stay while visiting the Ahaldara viewpoint and nearby areas of Sittong and Latpanchar in Darjeeling district of West Bengal. The homestay is about an hour and a half from Siliguri by car. Although there are no frequent public transport options, private car transfers can be arranged by the homestay with prices starting from INR 1000. The homestay is owned and managed by Mr. Sandesh Khawas, and his family. Mr. Khawas, an ex BSF jawan, is an extremely nice and friendly gentleman. He and his family has been running this homestay since the last couple of years. The booking and payment process was smooth and the communication from the homestay was very prompt and professional. We paid INR 1000 per head per night for our stay and food. The moment we stepped out of the vehicle in front of the property we were greeted by the family and shown to our rooms. There are four dorm rooms a tent and a small room in the property available for guests. After freshening up we were served lunch with food mainly from Nepali cuisine including rice, vegetables and chicken items which were really delicious. After lunch we explored the property and adjacent garden before taking a hike to Ahaldara 360 degree viewpoint. Later in the evening we had tea snacks near a bonfire and a chicken barbecue was prepared on request, by Sandesh ji. The BBQ charges were INR 600. and later after a wholesome dinner we were off to bed. The next morning we woke up to witness a magnificent sunrise from the homestay balcony. And after breakfast Sandesh ji presented us with khadas before checking out and leaving for Siliguri.
