Lisa Emerita's video: The April Showers Collection Part I: Drafting the Collection

@The April Showers Collection Part I: Drafting the Collection
I've named my capsule collection for Spring 2017 "The April Showers Collection." This video captures the beginning of the design process, preliminary sketches, patternmaking, and constructing the toiles. The collection consists of 5 pieces, arranged into 3 looks. It is essentially a study of one bodice used 4 ways, to be executed in 4 different fabrics. To accept a block into my pattern library, I need to see how it behaves over a variety of garments, and that is the purpose this collection serves. This block is a boxy fit drop sleeve 2-dart bodice. Look : +Belted Shift Dress with Ruffled Hem +Open Front Duster Length Cardigan Look : +Tunic Length T Shirt +High Waisted Shorts with Flounce Hem Look +Dress with 3 Paneled Bodice, Inset Ruffles Cascading the Shoulder from Front to Back, With Pockets and Elasticized Center Back Panel This is a link to the textbook I reference when designing patterns.
