Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia is famous worldwide for his expertise in the Bansuri. Chaurasia is a member of the classical school that has put in conscious effort to reach out to classical music lovers and to attract more people. As a musician, Chaurasia symbolizes a rare unity of tradition and modernity. He has added many dimensions to the expressions of the classical North Indian flute thanks to his expert technique. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Indian president in 1992 as a recognition of his extraordinary contributions to music. Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia is an internationally renowned exponent of the Bansuri or bamboo flute. His musical career has spanned over 50 years with over 100 albums released. He has collaborated with several western musicians, including John McLaughlin and Jan Gabarek, and has also composed music for a number of films. He has performed throughout the world, winning acclaim from varied audiences and fellow musicians including Yehudi Menuhin and Jean Pierre Rampal. & Rimpa Siva (born 1986) is an Indian musician known for being one of the few female tabla players. She was taught to play the Farukhabad gharana style by her father, Prof. Swapan Siva. She was the subject of the 1999 French documentary film Rimpa Siva: Princess of Tabla.
