@Avoiding Copyright Strikes: Let's Figure This Out Together
What is a copyright strike on YT? How do we avoid them? What are YT's rules. Let's figure this out together. Why can't you use music in your video that you paid for? Because no copyright license to the music came with the purchase. Want to license copyright rights to music? Here are 2 agencies that license music copyrights: 1) ASCAP: https://www.ascap.com/help/ascap-licensing 2) BMI: https://www.bmi.com/licensing/entry/types_of_copyrights Ian Corzine, YouTube Attorney Tips on Avoiding Copyright Strikes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_WWRJ71Hqo&t=228s 1) Keep it short 2) Talk about the content: what is your opinion about the work? 3) Transform it 4) Modify it 5) Cite who the copyright owner is Asking the owner for permission to use the work is another option. It is better to ask for permission that forgiveness in my opinion.
