Loon's video: HAPSMobile and Loon First to Successfully Test LTE Connectivity From Fixed-Wing Autonomous Aircraft

On September 21, 2020 HAPSMobile and Loon successfully tested the first ever fixed-wing autonomous aircraft LTE connectivity from the stratosphere. HAPSMobile's Sunglider, a solar-powered unmanned aircraft system, reached 60,000+ feet above the sea level, and provided connectivity to the team on the ground through Loon communications payload. We invited some very special guests to help us test the connection. Vint Cerf and Jun Murai, two "founding fathers" of the Internet, enjoyed their conversation powered by stratospheric connectivity. The team on the ground in New Mexico connected through a regular smartphone with others in Tokyo, Washington DC and Mountain View, CA.
